Agreeing to these terms
These terms cover your use of the Seymour Concrete website and any work you hire us to do. By using the site, asking for a quote or signing off on a job, you agree to them, so please read them before we start.
If a written estimate or contract we both sign says something different from this page, the signed document wins for that job. You can head back to the home page at any time, and if anything here is unclear, ask us before you agree to work.
What we do
Seymour Concrete is a concrete contractor in Seymour, IN. We pour and repair driveways, patios, sidewalks, steps, garage floors, foundations and other concrete work for homes and businesses in Seymour and the cities around it. You can read more about our crew on our About page.
The website gives general information about concrete work. It isn't advice for your property, and only a site visit can tell us what your job needs. We fix the exact scope of each job in your written estimate.
Estimates and pricing
We give free quotes on site, with no obligation. We look at the job in person because what's under the slab, how the ground drains, how easy it is to get a truck in and what's coming out all change the price.
Your estimate covers the work it lists, at the price it shows, for as long as it says it's good for. If we open up the job and find something nobody could see beforehand, like soft ground, buried debris or old concrete thicker than expected, we'll stop, show you and agree on any change in writing before we go on. Work you add or change after signing is priced separately.
Scheduling, weather and cancellation
We'll give you a start date when you accept the estimate, but concrete depends on the weather. We won't pour in heavy rain or temperatures that would weaken the slab, so we may move your date to protect the work, and we'll tell you as soon as we know.
If you need to cancel or reschedule, call us as early as you can. If materials have been ordered, forms set or a delivery booked for your job, you may owe for those costs, and your estimate or contract will say how that works.
Payment
Payment is due as your written estimate or contract sets out, which may include a deposit before work starts and the balance when the job is done. We'll tell you up front which payment methods we take.
If a payment is late, we may pause work until it's settled and charge reasonable costs of collecting it, as far as Indiana law allows.
Your part of the job
You agree to give our crew safe access to the work area, to tell us about anything buried that we should know about, like sprinkler lines, septic parts or private wiring, and to keep people, pets and vehicles off fresh concrete until we say it's ready. New concrete needs time to cure, which means time to harden and gain strength, and using it too soon can mark or crack it.
Unless your written agreement says we'll take care of it, getting any permit, HOA approval or utility locate the job needs is your responsibility. Check with your local building office if you're not sure whether your job needs a permit.
Our warranty and its limits
We're fully licensed and insured, and we stand behind our work. If something we did isn't right, tell us and we'll come back out to look at it. Any specific written warranty for your job will be in your estimate or contract, and it sets the terms.
Concrete is a natural material, and small hairline cracks, slight color differences and surface wear are normal and not defects. We aren't responsible for damage from things outside our control, including ground movement, tree roots, drainage changes made after we leave, de-icing salts, overloading, misuse or using the slab before it's cured. Apart from what we promise in writing, the website and our work come without any other warranty, to the extent Indiana law allows.
Limits on our liability
To the extent the law allows, Seymour Concrete isn't liable for indirect or follow-on losses, such as lost use of your property or lost income, from our work or from using this website. If we're found responsible for a loss tied to a job, our liability is limited to the amount you paid us for that job.
Nothing here limits any right you have that the law doesn't allow us to limit.
Settling a disagreement
If you're unhappy with anything, call us first. Most problems get sorted out fastest when we stand on the job together and talk it through, and we'll try in good faith to fix it.
If we can't agree that way, either of us may take the matter to a court with authority over the area where the work was done.
Which law applies
These terms, and any work we do for you, are governed by the laws of the State of Indiana.
Changes to these terms
We may update this page from time to time. The version posted here when you accept an estimate is the one that applies to your job.
